I try to keep on top of Slacker Radio updates because I use the app every day and they have their work cut out for them ironing out the buggy interface. This new version 3.1.153 seems to be another bug fix release spotted by Susan @BBSync. It is not the 4.0 update that I have been waiting for but it is something. Since there is no change log I decided to just write down a list of the bugs I hope were fixed in this release.
- If there is a weak internet connection or takes more than 10 seconds to login just SKIP THE LOGIN and let me play my cached stations. This works when there is no connection but if you have 1 bar of shoddy reception you have to turn of 3G to make it open.
- Stop adding “return to Slacker” to all of my menus and not removing it when I shutdown the application.
- After I skip a song don’t move the focus back to Play/Pause.
- New Feature: Add option to NEVER play music out of the speaker. This has gotten me dirty looks in a few meetings when I accidentally opened the app.
- Cook me breakfast…
Let us know if you have run into any Slacker bugs you want them to quash. You can pick up the update at www.slacker.com from your BlackBerry Browser.
Thanks Tashanna for sending this one in!

My biggest issue I’ve had with Slacker is the lack of customer information. I found this update as well by accident. I found out later that it was out for a few days already. I’m a premium subscriber but I get no emails or notices that any updates are out there. But I sure get the email saying they’re taking my money each month, so it’s not like they don’t know who’s a customer. As for he “return to Slacker” in the menus issue- that seemed to be fixed an update or two ago- maybe .121 or .133, I forget.

Oh- and about the change log- According to Slacker: “We provided this build to a partner with a specific partner ID, and they asked that we update the version on the Website”

I don’t know, but I always find slacker to be buggy. Ever since I had it on my storm 1 to now on my 9700…just too buggy and resource hog.
