QuickPull v5 Adds Revamped UI – Now Free?

quickpull 5 Steelthorn’s QuickPull software reminds me of the horrible days when I needed to restart my BlackBerry every day or week at max. Since I moved to the 9700 and then the 9800 I have not had that problem but I am sure there are some of you out there.

DavidB let me know that Steelthorn has updated QuickPull to version 5 with a few updates. Here is a rundown:

  • QuickPull 5 sports a new "fluid" UI, giving your device the visual appeal it deserves while making it intuitive to get things done.
  • The "Scheduler Dashboard" makes it even easier to schedule automated QuickPulls and provides you with an at-a-glance overview of your schedule history and settings.
  • New social integration with Twitter enables you to effortless let people know you’re about to be MIA, or to brag about how much easier it is to use QuickPull 5 than break a nail on your battery door.
  • Finally, after each QuickPull you’ll receive a personalized "Post-Reset Report" showing you just how much memory you gained by running that reset. Instant (well, 5 minute or so) satisfaction.

The other thing I noticed is that QuickPull and all of these new features are now free according to Steelthorn. As far as I remember there used to be a free and pro version but both of those have been pulled from App World.

PLEASE keep in mind that you will need to remove any previous installations of QuickPull before installing this version. You will need to reboot once when you uninstall a previous version and then once or twice more to get all of the modules working.

If you want to pick it up QuickPull v5 is available in App World at this link.

  1. Thank you. Downloading now :)

  2. It’s got a lot of mixed reviews, mostly bad ones. A bunch of rebooting needed, too, just to get the app set-up. I might try it out to see how that post-reset report works. Funny how people would need to tweet that they’ll be rebooting for the next 5-7 min lol.

  3. Program is garbage – wanted to download an update before it installed and then doesn’t work on my tour

  4. Just one quick note – a soft reset such as what Quickpull does (or what happens when you install software and accept the reboot prompt ) that is not the same as a battery pull. You will generally recover less memory and if specific apps are misbehaving due to internal issues, this will generally not resolve it.

Too, you can also just do a reset by holding down alt+right-shift+del in OS 5 and later – it does the same thing as quickpull but without the need for an app.

    • Yeah, no kidding. I think the “guts” and main “selling point” of this app is that you can schedule resets like you would a virus scan on a PC and some of the older Berrys can’t do the OS5 reset.

  5. the link sends me to version 4 not 5 – where do I get 5 from?
