RSA SecurID Token BlackBerry App Hotfix for BlackBerry 6 and the Torch 9800

RSA SecurID BlackBerry The RSA SecurID Token BlackBerry app is very popular among business folk which has caused an annoying problem since BlackBerry 6 launched. Their two factor authentication app did not work on the BlackBerry Torch 9800 which stopped many from upgrading to the device. RSA acknowledged the issue and promised a fix in September and delivered. For some reason they don’t seem to be publicizing it very well so I thought I would mention it here.

The new version 3.5.1 hotfix was released by RSA to officially add support for the BlackBerry Torch 9800. I also found that it works like a charm on the BlackBerry Bold 9650 running BlackBerry 6 beta but I don’t think RSA is going to “officially” support a unreleased OS.

Either way you can now pick up the updated version 3.5.1 at this link:

The change log is available here and you can find the announcement here

  1. My company provided BlackBerry (BES obviously) is a 9650 with OS OS 6 runs very well on it. Should I run this Torch Hotfix??

  2. Thanks for posting. Worked like a champ on my Torch.

  3. It seems that this hotfix worked for you but I have installed it on my torch and tried several times but it doesnt seems to work. It seems that it allows me to enter the PIN but when I hit on get passcode, it does nothing. I have deleted this hotfix and re-installed it 3 times not and rebooted the device as well after installation, but still not luck. What am I doing wrong… please help!!!

  4. It appears on your phone you can open the browser and visit and download and install the latest RSA Token for Blackberry that works with OS6 phones.

    • Thanks a bunch…. success… It was my BB BES policy that was protecting the old RSA version on the device from being updated. Removed BB from the Standard policy while the update process took place and placed the device back to the same policy. Works great..
