Free ScanLife Barcode Scanning App Updated for BlackBerry 6

ScanLife2If you have been scanning QR-codes and other barcodes with your BlackBerry you have probably heard of or even installed ScanLife. Nikolaus let us know that the developer just updated the free ScanLife app to 3.1.9 from 3.0.2 or 3.1.4 depending on your previous device.

The new version is now compatible with BlackBerry OS 6 since the previous version did not work. It also now lists more phone models as supported even though you could just download it anyways previously.

You can download the app directly at this link and don’t forget to use the app to scan the QR codes on BerryReview and in the Store.

  1. Are you sure its been updated for oS6? I don’t see torch in the list.. 🙁

  2. I am using on my 9650 that has OS 6

  3. I think I’ll wait for official support 🙂

  4. Nope, still doesn’t work on my ATT 9700. Still get the can’t decode message.

  5. I don’t see an OS 6 version for the Torch either. Anyone have any luck with the Storm 2 version?

  6. UPDATED AGAIN! This time to version 3.1.12, at least for my 9650 on OS 6

    • Ok weird! When updating my ScanLife app from 3.1.9 to 3.1.12 the install progress bar finishes but I then get a “failed” msg, which under details says an HTTP 404. I thought that is weird because I am installing an App! Then I saw the ScanLife homescreen icon, clicked it, and it opens my BB Browser. No new page loaded, just shows a page I already had loaded. I completely close out of my browser, and tried again. This time the ScanLife icon took me to a RIM website where I had to agree to terms. Once I agreed then I was taken to download ScanLife version 3.1.5. 3.1.5 did successfully install.
