RIM Covering the BlackBerry Scene at the Toronto International Film Festival

RIM Toronto International Film Festival RIM has been doing a nice job of covering the events they have hosted and sponsored recently. The latest event is the Toronto International Film Festival where RIM is covering the BlackBerry scene on both their dedicated Twitter account @BlackBerryScene and their Facebook app for the festival.

RIM is pulling in quite a bit of self made and partnered video content about the film festival and the movies being showcased. They also have livestreaming of the show along with chat available. It was nice of them to create a separate Twitter account for these events so the dedicated Twitter account does not get spammy. They are also tweeting out locations where attendees of the festival can meet up with the BlackBerry Scene team to win a new BlackBerry Torch 9800 if they reenact their favorite movie scene or quote. RIM also has street teams roaming around giving out accessories, tees, and (my favorite) fresh batteries if you BBM them.

Very cool of RIM’s social media team to pull off something coordinated like this. Hopefully they will be throwing an event near you soon so you can check it out!
