T-mobile has released an official OS update for the BlackBerry 8900 and the 8520 OS version 5.0.0.882. It is nice to see carriers release updates and this one is not too far behind from what was leaked a while back. With the version this high makes me wonder how far RIM will keep updating this version of OS since these devices will not see OS 6 as far as we know.
You can download the OS by heading over to the T-mobile website at this link.
Remember: Although this is an official OS, if you run into any trouble please start by reading this step by step guide.Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable

The thing that I find interesting about this update is that the 9700 is still on .714 at T-mobile. So the two devices that are not going to see OS6 are now running newer OSes. Perhaps they are working on the OS 6 version of 9700? We can only hope.

Yeah, that would be nice if that was the case
