BlackBerry Pearl 9100 and 9105 OS Found Online

imageI am still wondering what happened to the Pearl 3G since RIM announced it back in April of this year. It has been total radio silence from US carriers and only a few select international carriers are stocking them. This has my interest perked since I cannot imagine why carriers like T-Mobile are passing up on the 9100 considering how popular the 8100 was and still is. Either way the team at BBLeaks scored OS for both the 9100 & 9105 at these links:

Warning: This OS will not install on any other BlackBerry besides the one mentioned above and  is not an official release. If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this step by step guide.Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device. Don’t forget our usual warnings: do not download and install these updates if you don’t know what you’re doing. Incorrect procedure or just bad luck could render your BlackBerry inoperative or unstable

  1. It DOES make you wonder if USA carriers see a future in BlackBerry? TMO and Sprint are both likely too small to get any BlackBerry exclusives, and ATT and Verizon have shown their dedication to Apple and Android respectively. I think with their better plan prices TMO or Sprint could make a major BlackBerry play versus the big 2, but it might take Sprint buying TMO (oft rumored) to get “big enough” to make such a play have a chance at success.
