UPDATE: Due to popular demand our Secret Agent sent in pictures of the About screen and showing how much memory it used. You can see them at the bottom of the article.
While we have seen the BlackBerry Bold 9780 a few times one of our awesome Secret Agents sent in some great video, pictures, and screenshots of the device running BlackBerry 6. I am really excited for BlackBerry 6 and it is great to see the experience on a non-touchscreen device. Something tells me that BlackBerry 6 builds for the 9700, 9650, and others will start leaking out soon and it looks like RIM has managed to pull off a smooth experience. Hopefully the carriers will get off their lazy… and release this!
Video walkthrough (mobile link)
And some screenshots from the device:
So what do you think?

Is it me or does anyone else think the only real cool upgrade for OS6 is the webkit browser…THAT’S WHAT WE WANT TO SEE ON THESE VIDEOS GUYS! We already know Blackberry does everything else great…how about some in depth browser shots with the multiple tabs and stuff…

Why do you want to see only the browser on every single device… They already have in-depth browser videos on the 9800.
Most of the UI and today screen changes are not in the browser…

Agreed. And even though the Native browser on BlackBerry now isn’t the best, it doesn’t really hold me back either. I use it more than Bolt or Opera. I just want a browser that does what I need, when I need it.

I’m not on a carrier that would be getting this device, but it’s nice to see a snappier OS. I’d like to see this on a new device that WOW’s everyone.

If the 9700 can run os6, wuts the point of this device?

I think the reason they release this device is to replace the 9700 so future users can use the latest OS 6 on the great 9700 hardware…but this also means that 9700 might not able to run OS 6 since. Nobody is sure that the 9700 can run OS 6 at this moment so we just have to wait and see.

The 9700 will run BB 6, RIM confirmed it and we have a video of a 9700 running it. http://www.berryreview.com/2010/08/20/video-of-blackberry-6-on-the-blackberry-bold-9700/
