That didn’t take long. I am always amazed how fast the prices drop on BlackBerrys once they launch. You can always count on Amazon and others to undercut the carriers prices if you sign up for a new 2 year contract.
You can pick up the BlackBerry Torch 9800 for AT&T with a new contract for $99.99 on Amazon at this link. The price without a contract is higher than AT&T at $599.99. They also have the same $99.99 dollar deal for individual plans with a contract extension or $199.99 on family plans with an extension if you go to this link and click the button on the right that says “Buy with a contract extension (upgrade).”
Let us know if you spot any better deals! Thanks Larry for sending this one in.

Wow! At that price, Amazon & RIM can sell a ton of units! I didn’t think it was worth $199 compared spec-for-spec to the competition; however, at less than $100, this is a fantastic deal! RIM has plenty of devices in the low to mid price range, but nothing for the high-end power user. They just need a few high-end devices to take a bite out Apple & Google.

So tempting… if it wasn’t for the price difference on AT&T’s plans…

Seriously, it would be well worth returning a unit bought direct from ATT to save $100.

I’ll wait until it gets on a different carrier. Then I’ll consider it.

i really think the price of the blackberry torch should drop i really don’t see why with the plan it is approximately $100 and without the plan it is $600. look at that big jump in price it should boil down to at least $300.00 for the most.
