A big fan of celebrity gossip tabloids (I read them all) I recently saw US weekly has (incidentally I must give credit to Crackberry for beating me to the punch) an interesting new way of getting celebrity news to you quick….by BlackBerry Messenger. I immediately scanned the bar code and after about 10 minutes got approved. No BBM’s as of yet, but I’m waiting. The initial idea of this is very interesting and could end up being popular…or not. I assume this is a new thing RIM is marketing towards magazines and such as a new way to promote themselves. It could also be why RIM was asking users in the Beta zone to sign up for their BlackBerry Messenger ‘Stress Test’ back in July. Either way, I’m curious to see how this all plays out in the future.
