Mr. Number Service Adds Reverse Lookup & Spam Call Reporting

Mr Number Caller IDWe told you about the sweet Mr. Number crowdsourced caller ID app before but they have just updated the app with two key new features. Until now the app has provided caller ID for almost 70% of the numbers out there for free using crowd sourcing. They give you free caller ID in return for letting them check caller ID results for other members from your address book.

The two new features they have added are:

Reverse Lookup - Now you can look up any US number to find out who it is. Got a mystery phone number on your telephone bill or in your call log? Use Mr. Number to remind you who it is.  We can return a name for 70% of unknown numbers.  (As a reminder, we give you automatic reverse lookup for every unknown number – true caller ID – if you let Mr. Number look up results for other members in your address book. You don’t need to share data to look up numbers one at a time.)

Spam reporting - When you receive an unsolicited and unwanted call, you can quickly report it as spam. These reports help warn you and other Mr. Number users of malicious callers.  Hundreds of people report spam calls to Mr. Number every day and you can read some of their complaints at http://mrnumber.com/complaints

If you are interested in getting free caller ID on your BlackBerry and don’t care about sharing your contact list in return for good caller ID check it out at www.mrnumber.com or this link in App World
