This is RIM’s first public move since they purchased Viigo a bit back. They have just announced on the official Viigo blog that they are putting the Windows Mobile version of Viigo into End-Of-Life status. I have not heard anybody complaining but I cannot say that I am surprised in the least. Support for Viigo for Windows mobile will be available until July 21st after which it will be killed off.
I have been waiting to see what RIM plans on doing with Viigo now that they have purchased it. Other platforms have multiple viable RSS apps but Viigo is about the only successful RSS app available to BlackBerry users. I really hope RIM does not screw it up but I am also intrigued by the implications that RIM will be building a solid RSS reader into the BlackBerry OS.
What do you think?
Thanks to everybody who sent this one in!
