Courtesy of the city of New York. In the biggest display of QR Codes I have ever seen the city plastered them on a billboard on the Thomson Reuters building in Times Square. They were only up for a few hours but I caught pictures of them on Mashable and its kind of an interesting implementation.
The city used ads for services like 311, DOT, City of New York Parks, & more by providing huge QR codes right underneath the ad. I am not sure if people realized they should be scanning these QR codes or even had an app to scan them if they wanted to but maybe this is a start of a trend. Either way it was in interesting celebration of Internet Week.
