Terry let us know that LinkedIn has updated their BlackBerry app. They announced the update on their official blog with the details which is a nice change from the usual. The new version now supports the BlackBerry Tour, Curve, Bold, Pearl, Storm and over 21 devices running BlackBerry OS v4.3 or later.
Other updates include:
- Increased international support including adding localization for Brazil & Italy
- Smarter profiles with more details on what connections have changed in a linked profile. You can now see what sections have been changed (Education, Headline, Experience, etc.), as well as when your connections add things like an Instant Messenger account, Twitter account, or add their birthday to their profile.
They have also fixed a bunch of bugs and other things such as how they use fonts and how they update the address book integration with LinkedIn. Feel free to raise your own suggestions in their LinkedIn for BlackBerry group and through their feedback email address.
You can download the latest LinkedIn for BlackBerry v1.1 at this link.

Is the battery drain pretty much gone now? It was pretty bad in the 1.0 version.

Version 1 resulted in a massive increase in mid-day reboots (memory leak?)… and what was up the the funky mixed fonts mess on the bold? I wound up uninstalling it.
Will give the new version a try.

Caused MAJOR memory leaks on my 9700 (mem would drop from 90mb to 19mb in a few hours). Prior to installing I had gone almost a month without a reboot. This app necessitated multiple daily reboots. Uninstalling cleared things up.
