Our buddy Doug over at RIM’s official Inside BlackBerry blog gave us a taste of what RIM intentions are for the BlackBerry Beta Zone. He interviewed Stephanie Joiner, the Director of User Engagement @ RIM to give us some insight into what she is doing with the Beta Zone.
I didn’t realize that RIM had a whole team working on running the BlackBerry Beta Zone. There must be a whole slew of other private closed betas to keep them busy. Either that or they have to sit with legal and draft those book long legal agreements you have to agree to for every beta. You can read the whole interview on Inside BlackBerry but the one message that came up over and over again was:
We (RIM) want & welcome customer feedback in any form
From what I could read between the lines RIM has a floating goal with the Beta Zone. They are simply putting themselves out there and trying to see what works and what doesn’t. That gives users like us a great opportunity to give RIM valuable feedback to keep improving our beloved BlackBerrys and their beta program. I already put in my two cents asking for newer and better keyboard shortcuts for every app but make sure you do too!
