Rumor: RIM Working on BlackBerry Onyx Delta 9700a? Revision of Current 9700?

Blackberry 9700a UAProf There is a pretty interesting rumor floating the inter-webs today about a BlackBerry Onyx Delta 9700a refresh to the original Bold 9700. We know the device exists since it has its own UAProf document on RIM’s servers. LouiV over @BBLeaks got some details on this revision which will supposedly add some of the features found on the 9650 along with the upcoming slider 9800 to the classic Bold 9700 candy bar QWERTY device. This makes sense since RIM cannot let the 9700 just fall to the wayside since their main device is based on a candy bar form factor.

The 9700a will supposedly be upping the game with 512MB of RAM to support BlackBerry OS 6 along with its WebKit browser and a 5MP camera. I am not sure how that makes me feel as a current 9700 user since that seems to be the writing on the wall for the 9700. I am still hoping that RIM will upgrade the current 9700 to OS 6 when it comes out but I have not heard any confirmation of that and we should have seen some images of a 9700 running OS 6 by now…

In a side note developers have also been spotting BlackBerry 9800’s buying their products in App World. Things are definitely getting interesting for BlackBerry fans…

Thanks to everybody who send this one in!
