Two Out of Five AT&T iPhone Sales are to Enterprise Users

iPhone Security We usually do not mention iPhone sales here but I thought this latest comment by AT&T’s CEO to Engadet was interesting. He mentioned that four out of every ten sales of iPhone’s goes to enterprise users. He says that CIO’s have very little issues since they saw the security Apple put in the iPhone 3GS. For one thing that just goes to show to RIM that their main exclusive partner in the US thinks the iPhone is just as good a business tool as the BlackBerry… Not a good sign.

On the other hand I want to speak to these CEO’s. It was just reading an article about how you can plug a iPhone 3GS into a Ubuntu PC and all of a sudden you have full read & write access to the supposed “encrypted” data on the phone. Not a very secure solution… They also have a failed attempt at protecting their encryption keys which was also discovered. As a security buff I cannot imagine a company with any applied IT policies letting this kind of stuff fly. But who knows I have seen CEO’s demand to have their iPhones on the corporate network…

What do you think? Is the iPhone catching up with RIM in the business market?
