I have been hearing from a few sources that the BlackBerry Bold 9800 would be coming around June to AT&T. Justin over @BerryFix just added that he also heard from a trusted source that it will be coming to AT&T in June with a 3 month exclusivity.
RIM usually launches new devices around the same time every year with a key QWERTY launch coming in the June-August time frame every year. I have also been hearing that the WebKit browser is on schedule to be ready for the same time frame so things are starting to add up. Here is hoping that AT&T does not screw up this Bold launch like they did for the 9000 and the delay they had on the 9700.

Here’s hoping that AT&T does get it next month and that it will be carried in BestBuy stores… Oh and that I can use my BB Gift cards on it. lol. I am broke as a joke but NEED to upgrade my Bold 9000 and this is a perfect match!

Didn’t we go through the same thing with the 9700 last year and the 9000 the year before that. I don’t think this device is coming out in June, in fact, if history is any indication we will not see this device for sale on AT&T until early November. I just hope we don’t have the same situation we went through with the 9000 and the phone is released on other carrier before AT&T is satisfied that the phone is ready for prime time because the complaining that went on was deafening.
In addition to these portents of history, there is another significant fact which makes a June release near impossible, the imminent release of the new iPhone. There is just no way that AT&T is going to release another major phone near the release of the iPhone. And again history, is the teacher. Each year Apple releases a new iPhone in June/July and each year AT&T gives it a pretty much exclusive window for the release. There is absolutely no reason to think or facts to suggest that this practice is going to change this time around.

The reason to believe that they will offer it the same month as the iPhone is that the iPhone will no longer be an AT&T exclusive soon……

cant wait, have an upgarde available and thought about getting another 9700, but will wait for the 9800 to appear, check it out in the store then decide on what BB i will be getting. Already using a 9000 & 9700 so i would be selling the 2nd 9700 in box.
