Bitstream let us know about the latest update to their popular Bolt Browser for BlackBerry. Version 2.1 brings support for tabbed web browsing along with HTML5 video support and better integration with the Facebook website. The HTML5 support adds to the already large list of Flash video websites that work with Bolt.
The new Facebook integration now lets you use Facebook Chat inside of Bolt along with copying text and posting it to Facebook. Tabbed browsing is a very popular feature in Opera Mini so it should be a hit for Bolt. The widget gallery also got an update and Bolt servers have been upgraded to support WebKit 4.03.
The Bolt browser is available for free at www.boltbrowser.com though current users should be prompted in the app to download the update.

Wish it could be the default browser. But since neither it nor Opera can be, I just can’t see carrying around two or three browsers.

Any word if they’ve improved the shortcut interface for BBs?
Last time I tried this browser the shortcut interface was awful and several controls were very flakey. The browser’s abilities around RIM’s limitations are attractive but the usability factor was very low last time I took the thing for a test drive

Totally wrong post.
As a side note, I never got the Bold launcher to work.

It actually works now cool.
I’ll tell you what didn’t work before:
1. Links in mail/text/etc wouldn’t even open the browser
2. Links in twitter/etc would open the browser but would not load. (The browser would open, but that was it.)
Both now work.

It was probably added in a beta of 2 and is now in the official version…
