49519.png While browsing through BlackBerry App World for fitness application I came across this useful application from SparkPeople. The application is easy to use, and it allows new users to create a new account right from their BlackBerry. I never used an application like this before but I decided to give it a try and I was impressed with all the tools it offers. From the start the application ask you to enter you weight, set a desire weight loss along with a time frame. The application automatically determines how much you need to exercise and eat in order to achieve your goal. You can also go online and set up more options like a meal plan, work out routines, and even print them out.  From the application you can search their database for a food you ate and it gives you the calorie counts. It also allows you to save them as favorites, add your own information.

Main Features:

  • A food and calorie tracker with more than 1 million foods in its database
  • Daily meal plans customized for your goals (optional )
  • A fitness tracker to track your workouts and calories burned
  • A quick glance view of your calories eaten and burned on the home screen
  • A weigh-in page that shows progress over time
  • A water tracker
  • Sync with online account

The services is free which I am amaze at how much information it provides usually services like this cost quite a bit of money. Other features that are helpful include daily or weekly progress reports. The online website also gives you more information if your eating a healthy diet or not. If you have been looking for an easy way to stay track what you eat check out this application.

  1. Here’s why it’s free from the website: “SparkPeople can be free because my wife and I were very early eBay employees and are now using our earnings from its success to make the world a healthier place.” I might give it a go.
