We all knew that RIM would eventually make the jump to LTE but they have always been very slow to adopt new standards. Anybody remember how long it took them to get EDGE and the painful wait for a 3G BlackBerry years after every other device had 3G? Verizon Wireless CEO Lowell McAdam said at Reuters Global Technology Summit that RIM is one of the companies that is working on LTE phones for Verizon.
I know we don’t have phones fast enough to take advantage of the speed benefits of LTE but it is great to get some independent confirmation that RIM is working on LTE. Anybody else waiting for the day you will be able to download songs and movies on your BlackBerry in seconds instead of minutes and hours?

Hard to get excited about this when Verizon still hasn’t released the Bold 9650 (though Sprint didn’t seem to have much trouble).
