WES 2010: BMW ConnectedDrive Message Integration

100_7091 During WES 2010 BMW showcased their ConnectedDrive message Integration feature. The application on the BlackBerry connects via bluetooth to a larger LCD display on most BMW’s to sync your messages, including SMS and e-mail to the display screen. The System does have a feature to keep your eyes on the road, it displays only the first two lines and you can choose the option to have the ConnectDrive read the message back to you. One of the other nice features is A2DP music streaming from your BlackBerry to cars radio using Bluetooth.

Most new BMW feature an LCD screen in the dashboard that has allowed them to sync contacts and make calls using this features using the car stereo system but this new feature will allow the person to control view e-mails and text messages making it even more useful.  The BMW’s with this feature should be out later this year, check out the short video demo they gave us. The car they had at the event is a 2011 BMW 335is Convertible priced at $59,075m, 60k if you add the cost of the BlackBerry. I wish we could of taken it for a ride.
