We first heard about the clamshell 9670 a bit back and it still leaves me scratching my head. We now have more pictures of the BlackBerry 9670 to check out courtesy of B.I.G.G.I.E over at CrackBerry forums. Nothing really much new to see here but it allows us to spend some more time wondering what RIM was/is thinking… There are also some new shots of the BlackBerry Atlas 8980 which used to be the 8910.

Does anyone else think that the clam-shell design looks horrendous? I feel like the whole front-cover is just a waste; I’m not really seeing much functionality with it- unless it’s a touch-screen too?

I don’t think it’s horrendous. I think it looks… pedestrian. Likely to please people who’d usually buy a cheap Motorola or cheap Samsung. Not a bad idea in my opinion. It’s another slice of the market share.
