One of the big questions about the upcoming revision of the original BlackBerry Tour was if the 9650 would be branded as a Tour2 or a Bold series device. Kevin over @CrackBerry just answered that question with some pictures of the BlackBerry Bold 9650. Still no word on if it will have a leather back cover but what do you think? Would it be a Bold without one? The upgrades here are the trackpad instead of trackball and the addition of OpenGL support.

Definitely one of Big Red’s test devices — Branding Version including “105″ is VZW, for sure!

If this is the replacement to the Tour I will be very disappointed and not purchasing it. Since when to updated models feature the exact same housing design and features as the outgoing models. The only features that seem to have been added should have bee there in the first place. The Bold 9700 to me is the next generation Blackberry and the Tour replacement needs to follow suite. Sometimes I wonder if the people at RIM think about what the designs of the devices. The 9630/Storm 1 and 2 have the poorest charge port location I have ever seen on any device. I mean do they think people don’t use their phone while it’s charging? Be serious. And the same poor battery design that we have to put up with on the 9630. I will pass.
