Bolt Browser 2.0 Released With Tabbed Browsing

The guys over at Bitstream have been busy working on the Bolt browser for BlackBerry, today they have released version 2.0. This new version brings tabbed browsing to the mix.

If you are a Bolt browser fan go to this LINK

Bolt also allows you to set it as the default browser by downloading a separate plugging that allows you to open urls from emails, and SMS with the Bolt browser. The plugging can be downloaded at this this LINK

One of the things that I like about this browser is the ability to display web pages in full and even plays videos directly on the browser from Youtube. The application size is small compare to most apps.

  1. tabbing seems to work well enough, FWIW. thanks

  2. Thing is buggy and terrible… Some menu items are hidden, but can still be selected, making it very hard to figure out how to do things. Received several api error messages, browsing eventually stopped working.

    Gave up and uninstalled it.

  3. I had to uninstall it. It didn’t work with wifi, didn’t save any passwords (although technically I use lastpass, so that doesn’t matter too much), and the page width was ridiculous, even when viewing mobile versions of pages.

  4. Using bolt 2.0 as I write this. Much more functional than 1.7. I can copy text on webpages well now & paste. The tabs rock & clicking buttons works much better now.

At least on the Storm 2 this was BIG improvement.

  5. Running Bold 9000 on 4.6. Installed Bolt 2 . Benchmarked against opera min 4.2. Time for Opera to load ‘times online’ about 4 secs, BOLT 45 secs. Tested against other mobile sites, similar results. Why so slow Bolt ?
