If I am not mistaken the 9550 and 8530 support OpenGL because they use the Qualcomm chipset. The GSM brethren do not use the Qualcomm chipset

All indications on RIM public and developer web sites are that 9520 supports everything the 9550 supports as far as OpenGL goes.

That is strange, I thought the 9520 and 9550 were the same device basically. I would be very surprised if it could not support open GL

9520 doesn't have the same OpenGL support as its 9550 brother? That's awful strange, why then would RIM offer it anywhere except 9550 territories?

For $10 i'd like a hands on demo first. I heard one of the new OpenGL based NFS games we very sluggish and choppy. I'd hate to waste $10 on a choppy game.

8530 has an identical chipset and ram to the storm2.

The only reason nobody ports the games to the 8530 is that they don't want to re-do everything for the resolution and control schemes, since all the opengl games start as storm2 games.
