Woot! Bla1ze spotted an official release of OS 5.0.0.545 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 from Vodafone UK. This is an official release of the leak that we saw earlier this month. This is the latest build out there so far so its worth giving it a shot.
If you do not know how to upgrade your BlackBerry OS please start by reading this great step by step guide that Luis wrote up. NOTE: Don’t forget to delete the vendor.xml file located in c:program files>common files>research in motion>apploader to install it on a different carriers device.
Please confirm in the comments if this works for you!

I have installed the update and I, like the people on CrackBerry, have noticed an increase in speed (not sure if it is real or imagined) in the web browser.
One thing that is annoying is definitely the whole mute button/lock button thing but I guess it is something I will just have to get used to.

Usually that’s just imaginative because the memory is refreshed and it feels lighter even if it were an older version (not too old because some older ones are slower)
Oh by the way…the boot time is much longer than the previous leak .539

Well done. After installed, it becomes lighter and good performance.
