RIM sent out their latest BlackBerry Connection Newsletter mentioning that their official Twitter client and the much awaited LinkedIn app are “Almost here.” The interesting part is that RIM titled the section “Two Popular Business Apps Are Almost Here!” I didn’t realize that Twitter was a business app.
The whole section is ripe with vague release timelines stating that “Two of your favorite business apps will arrive in BlackBerry App World soon.”
In the immortal words of Dark Helmet I just have to ask: “When will “then” be now?”

Are we to make anything of the fact that the newsletter highlights that the Twitter app will be free but says nothing of the sort about the LinkedIn app??? Scary thought

I’m thinking RIM and these social clients need to part ways. These fad apps are undermining efforts to make better quality berries in the future.

Wonder if these applications will be available to Australian BlackBerry App World users, or if it’ll be another “eBay” (ie. We never get it!)?

If my LinkedIn app won”t any better than my Facebook app….why bother.
