Forgot your password? At Bat 2010 Available for Storm Devices Only

atbat MLB fans now have a new reason to empty their wallets. MLB has just released At Bat 2010 for the Storm and Storm2. I am not sure why they limited the market at launch like that but I guess they have their reasons. The main downside of the app is that it costs $14.99 which is a bank buster compared to other sports news apps. On the other hand MLB At Bat seems to provide more live data and news from around the league.

You can find it in App World at this link

From the description: At Bat, the award winning mobile sports app, is now available on BlackBerry® for the 2010 season. With At Bat 2010 you can:

– Listen LIVE to every regular season and Postseason game
– Follow every pitch with exclusive Gameday pitch speed and location data
– View up to the minute box scores and player stats
– Watch game highlights moments after they happen
– Keep up with news from around the league
– Track standings
– Set multiple favorite teams

  1. Sounds feature rich and fun, but at $15 they price themselves out of what consumers have shown they are willing to pay for a smartphone app. Perhaps they price high to start though so they can offer $5 off or half off “deals” and still make bank?

I suspect the amount of content is why Storm only. Nearly double the glass size (even though same resolution) helps a lot with dense information display.

  2. If this app would be available for the bold I would gladly pay 15$ for this app. Being able to listen and/or get the pitch by pitch is very convenient on the go. Mind you I have 2 plasma tv’s right next to each other at so that I can watch 2 bbl games at once.

Its not for everyone but I would love it for my phone…

  3. Just wish they would include some live video…
