UPDATE: Gizmodo just reported that “According to Verizon, the outage is over. On their Twitter account, Verizon also clarified that, despite earlier reports, this was an issue in the eastern US.”
We have been hearing sporadically over the last few hours that Verizon users on the east coast are having issues with data. This so far has spanned from Droid users like MobileCrunch’s Matt Burns to BlackBerry users.
Anybody else experiencing issues? Let us know in the comments. So far we have not heard anything from traditional channels so this could just be a localized issue.

DC metro area. Yes both my Storm and my Tour had “ev” this morning but a reboot of each had me back to “EV”. Whatever outage there was it was short.

Outage from 7:30am through 9:00am. Affected all Verizon data services on mobile phones and cell modems. All seems well now.

Lost service for about 10-15 minutes in Hoboken, NJ around 10am this morning. Power cycled the radio and was fine ever since.

I had no data service starting at around 3:00 A.M. EST in Orlando. Didn’t get it back until around 9:00 a.m. today. Thank god my sprint aircard was still working…..

texts will not send or recieve with my phone and basically everyone elses judging by the facebook status messages and we are all in the north eastern part of Ohio. Issues started a few hours ago. Can’t recieve or make calls either. very annoying and inconvient
