This totally came out of left field. As a AT&T customer I cannot help but complain about their shoddy 3G service in Manhattan but it looks like in 3G reliability AT&T too PC World prize. They have been investing heavily in their 3G network for the past few months and even they admit they need to fix their network issues in NYC and SF. The results of PC World’s test just goes to show how far that investment has gone.
PC World did a test across 13 US cities comparing AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint. AT&T came ahead with download speeds over 1,000kbps most of the time. The crazy part is that most of the other carriers didn’t even come close to 1,000kbps. AT&T is also leading in upload speeds in all but 1 market along with an average reliability rating of 94%.
Check out the full performance test on PC World’s website and let us know what you think! I am just waiting for AT&T to really amp up their coverage in NYC.
