Bolt Browser updated to V. 1.7 with Zoom and Widget Support

ScreenHunter_02 Feb. 15 06.15 Bolt browser for BlackBerry got an update today to V. 1.7 with some nice new features. One of the things that made Bolt hard to use was the small font but it looks like they have improved this with the option to zoom in, and added some BlackBerry specific shortcuts. It got improvements in the video support including ESPN video stream.

  • – New shortcut keys that enable users to zoom in or out directly from the keypad, as well as navigating to the top or bottom of a page in full screen view
  • – BlackBerry-specific shortcut keys for scrolling to the top, bottom, left, and right of a page
  • – Common shortcut keys for both BlackBerry and non-BlackBerry devices with QWERTY keypad
  • – More sensitive button support on web forms
  • – Search widget to allow editing and searching of selected text on web page

  1. Every time I tried this browser on my 4.5 8330 it was lots of hourglass and little download. I always used the builtin browser just to get things done. Sigh.. I guess I’ll try again.

  2. I’ll give this a download, but I don’t see myself switching from Opera.

  3. About every other version or so I TRY to get excited about Bolt. Had this on my Tour for a grand total of about 15 minutes and yet again just can’t get spun up about it. I’m probably too set in my ways, but I just can’t get hyped over how slow this is compared to Column View under OS 5 on a site optimized for BlackBerry browsing. Sheesh, BerryReview is a MESS try to read it in Bolt. I’ll stick with the native browser.
