Motorola Files ITC Complaint & Wants to Block BlackBerry Imports

Boxing ExecutivesWe told you back in June that Motorola and RIM were in a legal fight over a cross patent agreement that ended in December 2007. Now over 2 years later they are still pointing fingers with Motorola saying RIM is violating 6 of their patents and RIM firing back that Motorola is violating 9 of their patents.

The latest is that Motorola has filed a complaint against RIM with the International Trade Commission to bar the imports of all BlackBerrys. According to Reuters they claim that:

RIM’s products infringe on at least one of the patents, which cover technology for Wi-Fi, application management, user interface and power management

RIM seems to really be attracting these legal/patent troubles recently. Maybe all of these companies are mad that RIM is doing well… Still its not cool for them to ask the ITC to bar RIM from importing our favorite devices and block sales of previously imported devices.
