FYI: I found a few ShowMates on eBay for less money. Also Amazon has them for $80.
RIM says that in the future the Presenter will be able to project... but who knows when?
ShowMate for the win!

Its much cheaper now $149 I saw on their site today. Yes you do need to convert them which takes only a minute or two. You also get the ability to project whats on your blackberry screen. So its good for more then just powerpoint.

I have the Impatica Showmate. The requirement to convert all Powerpoint slides with the desktop tool prior to using it is the deal breaker -- if you can get a presentation emailed to you and go straight from email to presentation, it's really just a novelty.

On the other hand, if you do want to demo Blackberry apps on the big screen, Impatica does a great job letting you mirror what's on your Blackberry to the projector.

I had a chance to take a look at Imaptica ShowMate and have written this review. At this time the ShowMate is more versatile than BB Presenter but BB Presenter can display native PowerPoint presentations and at higher resolution. Having said that the ShowMate allows the BB Curve (83xx) series to project presentations which the BB Presenter excludes. You can read more at: http://assistivetek.blogspot.com/2010/01/showmate-powerpoint-presentations-from.html

yeah that is true and a big difference I wonder if the impatica would be even better if it does that. I never actually used it before but it be a good test to do a side by side review.

I think the ShowMate is $150 now... But it always allows you to broadcast the BlackBerry screen in real time, in addition to a slide show.
Hmm. :\

Inever used the impatica before but I think it is a bit less user friendly than this one, if am correct you have to convert all your PPT presentations to work with impatica. With this one is just plug and play from your BB. Not sure on the pricing but originally was 250 could be cheaper now.

I'm wondering how this compares directly with the Impatica ShowMate device. Any ideas?
