CES: Allerta inPulse Smartwatch for BlackBerry Spotted

allerta-inpulse-smartwatch There have been quite a few things said about the Allerta inPulse Smartwatch but it came out of vaporware @CES. Engadget got some great pictures of the watch along with the main features at launch. The Smartwatch will support displaying text messages, caller ID, email, and even BlackBerry messenger. Sadly the watch looks so big and geeky I doubt it will replace my trusted TAG.

Kevin over @CrackBerry managed to get the Smartwatch on video for all of you who wanted to see how it worked. He mentions that the watch is big but not too big and he is a watch connoisseur. (compared to me) Still it looks HUGE to me.

  1. Meh – this is pretty much exactly the same thing as the “bluetooth watches” Sony Ericsson have been making for years now (which are nicer-looking and a LOT smaller I might add!)…

Sony Ericsson still sell them, but don’t really push them as the idea never really took off.

I’d buy such a watch, but I’m not paying around $AU650 ($US601.25) for one (this is roughly the price Sony Ericsson want for theirs!), especially when I’d only really use it for the time and caller-identification…

  2. its at a $149 price point.
