Al @CIO.com noticed that Amazon is listing a Kindle for BlackBerry app as coming soon on their website. I never truly understood why Amazon does not already have a Kindle application for BlackBerry. Amazon OWNS the main eBook application for BlackBerry when they purchased Mobipocket. If you look on the Mobipocket website you will see on the bottom left side that it is an Amazon.com company.
If I am not mistaken the Kindle even uses the same eBook format as the Mobipocket standard so the swap would be simple. They could just rebrand Mobipocket to Kindle and open up the Kindle store…
What do you think?

My wish is for a common format for eBooks across all hardware platforms. So I can read no matter what device I have handy and they all are in sync.
Yeah, I know, pipe dream.
