Not long after OS 5.0.0.415 for the 9700 leaked online with a new version of BlackBerry Messenger the new version is available for OTA download. This might not be the smartest app to install on your BlackBerry just yet but it may be worth a shot if you HAVE to live on the bleeding edge. I would not advise installing it on a touchscreen device or one without OS 5.0 but it might just work since it worked on my 9700.
NOTE: DO NOT INSTALL this app if you do not know what you are doing or how to recover from a bricked device or worse! Proceed at your own riskā¦
Download OTA at BBHybrids via BBHybrids

Downloads so slowly I get a timeout. Twice now I’ve tried. Get passed the 3rd “Yes to overwrite modules” msg and then times out.

download the .jad in your pc browser. edit the jad and find out the .cod names. manually download the .cod files using the same starting url as the .jad. once you have all of the files you can change the vendor info to Research In Motion Limited if you want. use mcp http://mcpfx.com to “load” the jad file on to your device.

I think I will hold off on dling this. We all know what happen the last time the leak bbm5.0 was out. It caused a overload on RIM. I will wait to RIM releases it.

Why when it gives the option of previewing a photo, the image is madd small? Its not even worth the preview, might as well save and view like the old version.
Is their a way of changing this?

I don’t think it is an option, hopefully rim fixes this, they implemented that so well in the old version of BBM

There is a severe issue in either the standalone BBM or the OS in which it was found, but beware. You can lose all your threaded SMS after a reboot.
