AT&T Releases iPhone App to Let Users Report Spotty Coverage

markthespot This is an interesting twist by AT&T. Currently you have to call them when you want to report spotty or bad coverage but IntoMobile spotted a new iPhone app that helps you do exactly the same thing. Hopefully this “Mark The Spot” app will come to BlackBerry soon but it might help us BlackBerry users inadvertently.

The iPhone app is pretty simple. You just run the application after AT&T drops your signal and then the GPS will kick in for you to submit a trouble ticket.

  1. ummm one question…what if you don’t get signal until you’re long gone from that dead spot? your ticket will likely be insufficient, eh?

  2. save time..just email them the map of the US

  3. does it capture the signal strength and send it too along with the coordinates? Otherwise it doesn’t make sense…

  4. So how come if it’s all the iPhone users screwing up the network because not only is the iPhone a data hog but obviously iPhone users have way too much time on their hands, we don’t have a BlackBerry version of this so that people who actually have jobs and data friendly devices can report the lousy network conditions???

  5. I’d like to see a Blackberry version of this app. I’m just about ready to jump ship from AT&T to Verizon due to poor coverage in my area. It’s not just lack of 3G coverage, but dropped calls, etc that I have to contend with
