Seesmic Releases Free BlackBerry Twitter Client – OS 4.6+ Only

Seesmic Thanks to everybody for letting us know about Seesmic’s new Twitter client for BlackBerry. The app looks like it is free but sadly the app is only available for OS 4.6+ devices with an alpha for touchscreen Storm devices. All you need to do is head over to from your BlackBerry or this link from your desktop to pick it up.

  • All your timelines Seesmic for BlackBerry groups all your Twitter timelines into one simple application. Whether you want to scroll through your friends timeline, check on a saved search, view a list or want to find a private conversation with a friend, everything is one click away from the main menu.
  • Saved search and list support Searches and lists saved on your Twitter account are automatically imported and made available inside the BlackBerry application – a first for a Twitter application the BlackBerry.
  • Photo sharing We made it very easy for you to share a photo from your gallery or take a photo directly from the application. While we take care of uploading your photo to leading hosting services such as YFrog, you can type your message and see the final URL to your photo appear when it’s ready!
  • URL Shortening We integrated the same URL shortening capability than in our popular Desktop client. Just type a URL, press the shortening button and we’ll transform your long URL into a really small one so you have more space for your tweets.
    Background Notifications
While it is running in the background, Seesmic for BlackBerry will alert you to received Direct Messages and @Replies that require your attention. This is done using the familiar system-wide icon notification bar that alerts you to new mail, sms messages and voicemails.

  1. I’m having problems with the conecctions
It just connect trough wifi, is anyone else having this trouble?
    Where should I report it!?

  2. This is good news to me because their computer app is the best one on the market imo. Having tried at least 5 twitter clients including Tweetdeck & DestroyTwitter, Seesmic’s Twhirl is the most simple and efficient one with that actually previews incoming tweets instead of making you have to continually check the running app.

While I can’t imagine anything they’d offer the BB that Ubertwitter doesn’t already, I would recommend anyone looking for a good, simple computer app check out Twhirl.

  3. Looks like they are working on the bugs… Maybe try emailing their support email? Supposedly a new version is coming shortly…
