TwitterBerry Renamed OpenBeak

OpenBeak I am not sure how many people still use TwitterBerry but Adam @CrackBerry noticed that they changed their name to OpenBeak. I was just reading the latest issue of Laptop Magazine and even they featured TwitterBerry as the main Twitter client for BlackBerry. I don’t think that changing the name of the app was such a great idea after it got so much link love and press as TwitterBerry but they probably needed to change it to be accepted into App World.

New in OpenBeak 1.1:

    *  Twitter Search
    * New Setup Wizard
    * Choice of viewing tweets in a list view or a bubble view
    * Notification icon will clear when quitting OpenBeak

You can pick up the latest version at m.openbeak.com or read more at www.openbeak.com.

  1. I still use TwitterBerry… is there a better free BB Twitter app that you recommend?

    • Also, the name change is because Twitter legal has been forcing app devs to remove the word “Twitter” from their sw titles. TwitterBerry is only one of many apps to change its name recently. (See: TwitterFon/TwitterFox –> Echofon)

  2. Well, no matter what the name is- it was a non-issue on my Curve. Installed fine until I actually went to use it. “Network Error” everytime. goodbye. back to Ubertwitter…

    Still waiting for RIM’s native client… which was supposed to be out on Tuesday…
