Ronen mentioned this cool application a few weeks ago called RoadRunner GPS best suited for those that like to run & record your distance. If you never heard of the application here is an a description from their website:
“Whether you are a casual walker, a jogger or a long distance runner, RoadRunnerGPS is the ideal companion app for your BlackBerry. By using the built-in GPS capability RoadRunnerGPS will analyze your workout in real time and give you feedback on your progress. Use the feature rich yet simple to navigate screens to obtain information about:
- Distance travelled
- Elapsed time
- Average speed and pace
- Calories expended
With the built in mapping screen, view your position and path and direction. RoadRunnerGPS comes with built in audio cues to inform you of time and/or distance covered.
When your workout is complete, upload your results to the server with a single click!
Log in to you account on the server to review your run data. Track your progress over time and obtain graphs and other statistics.”
This application does come with a free 14 day trial that you can download by heading to this link .

I would love to have this app in my Blackberry 9700. I am an avid runner and at present have to use Nike+ shoe with either my iPhone or a Nike Sportsband to track my distance/pace. If I can do this with my Blackberry using Roadrunner GPS, this will be excellent!

I have just gotten serious about my health and taking control and this app sounds very helpful. I am trying to develop a love of running and have yet to do so. The advantage of this app is that I can chart my own course and leave the track I have been safely running.

Great program! Used it for both jogging and biking. 1 mile marker chimes, pace counter, etc are fantastic. Love the map route as well.

Says th 8330 is “known to support GPS”
Odd that the only GPS enabled app I have seen actually be able to use GPS on the 8330 is BBMaps. Poynt, GMaps, etc. cannot access the GPS.
