I called Tmobile today & several representatives confirmed that Business customers can order the new Bold 9700 today. They did not say when regular customers can get it. As usual business customers get the new devices a couple of weeks earlier so I would expect consumers to be able to get theirs around mid November or towards the end of the month. No word on when AT&T will be getting theirs. If you are a business customer you can head over to www.T-Mobile.com/business/locator.aspx to locate a business sales rep and order you a new BlackBerry 9700. Let us know in the comments if you are able to get your hands on one.

Thanks! I’m about to give them a call myself; I was able to get the 8900 early as well, so this is good news!

Thanks, I am still debating whether to wait or order now, I remember with the 8900 they dropped the price to 150 a couple of weeks after release .

My T-Mobile rep is telling me that they’re only available for new lines of service, not upgrades.

I have a corporate discount, and I’ve been bounced 3 times between Customer Care and business sales now trying to order this phone. Anyone else have better luck? How did you order it?

Tried to order, but they said their system was updating and to try to call back in a few hours. They said they knew it was dropping for business customers, but all others had to wait.

I was going to try again later this afternoon anyway; hopefully the T-Mo reps will get their information straight!

Just placed my order. They said it should ship by tomorrow.

Was this an upgrade or a new line of service? I can’t believe they lied to me and told me I couldn’t upgrade?

It was an upgrade sort of – I paid full price for the unit – our company has the policy to pay full price not to be in contracts.

Can’t the current subscribers of T-Mobile upgrade for new 2 years contract and avail the benefit of the new 9700? Comm’on I know I did that with my 8900 Javelin Curve.

Used business account. They said the consumer side wasn’t available. They didn’t know when it would be available for the retail consumer side, but hoped soon.

I just got a call from a tmobile rep and I was told consumers can upgrade starting the 11/16 so that’s not bad just a few more days, only business customers can do that at the moment
