AT&T Releasing Voicemail-To-Text & Canada Plans Next Week

newATTplans-voicemail Engadget has it on good authority that AT&T is planning on rolling out their own Voicemail-To-Text service along with some new Canada calling plans next week. It is supposed to be launching on Sunday and should be interesting to see. AT&T finally launched Visual Voicemail for the BlackBerry Bold last month so this could be a cool addition if it is connected. The Voicemail to text will cost $9.99 a month and be limited to 60 seconds. You can get the messages via SMS, email, or both so it looks like it is not integrated with the BlackBerry app…

The new Canada plan will be called AT&T Nation with Canada which adds no long distance charges on calls to Canada along with 1,000 night and weekend minutes that work in both countries with rollover, A-List, and early night and weekends still available. No word on price.

Anybody excited?

  1. Lol. Excited??? When Google Voice offers the same for free? Uh, no not really.

Of course, being an ATT stockholder I DO hope EVERYONE signs up! 😉

    From my BlackBerry Storm…

  2. Voicemail to text is already available on the Rogers Wireless Network. I have it and it’s awesome!

  3. I’d be a lot more excited about the Canada calling if I didn’t have another year left on my Verizon contract. Now, if I’m reading correctly, though, they’re offering no long distance to Canada but not necessarily “no roaming” in Canada like Verizon does. That’s a big difference. Free calling to Canada is yet another thing you can do for free with Google Voice.
