I guess RIM was really impressed with their sponsorship of this years U2 World Tour and decided to sponsor next years. I don’t truly understand what is in the deal for RIM since their representation at these U2 concerts is lackluster at best. You would have thought that at the very least the BlackBerry Tour would come with a free copy of the U2 album or something…
So is anybody excited that RIM is sponsoring this upcoming tour? Maybe it is part of the upcoming Tour with Wi-Fi and trackpad launch…

I saw them with MUSE in Dallas, and I agree the RIM presence was minimal. I got a cheap cheap bag with the BB logo and a screen cleaner. I don’t think Bono thanked RIM once with all the other groups and people he thanked.

Truly this arrangement is mysterious. You have to wonder what RIM thinks they are getting out of it? Especially if they are putting out any cash, to what end???
I can think of a lot of things that would have benefit to lackBerry users (most notably, FIX THE SUBSTANDARD WEB BROWSER!) I’d like to see RIM “investing” in versus sponsoring 2 years of some over-the-hill rock band’s touring…
