I swear some of you people get so defensive. It's a "starter" or "entry level" device because things like the screen and camera are of lesser quality than devices like the Bold. It doesn't have the leather. It's not designed to be a top-end model. It's like your everyday car as opposed to a Ferrari. Adam's not saying good drivers only drive Ferraris, but if you haven't driven before, you're probably better off getting the Toyota. If you haven't had a smart phone before and you want the basic functionality it provides, this device is probably your best bet. My parents don't even have cameras on their phones. If they wanted to get a BlackBerry to browse the web, they should probably get this device. http://www.cdmacellulars.com

Despite the CDMA haters insisting it ain't so, EV-DO Rev0 IS "3G". So the 8130 was 3G, the 8830 was 3G, the 8330 was 3G, the 8230 was 3G, and now the 8530 is 3G.

I fully agree though with those that argue the 8530 is mis-numbered. It SHOULD be the 8550, since it has EV-DO and wifi (as do 8350 and 9550 and the coming soon 9650).

WTF? I thought the 8520 has EDGE only, and looks like it might not get OS 5.0. Now the 8530 gets 3G AND OS 5.0!?! Something is very odd here. Usually there is no difference between an XX30 and XX20 except for CDMA or GSM.

I agree with DavidB. Trackpad and Wifi are huge!

While the Tour is a great device it's very heavy and keyboard feels a little cramped.

Why? You spend an extra $50 and don't get the trackpad or wifi. The Tour is awesome, hands down the best BlackBerry Verizon has ever offered, but it got caught in midst of Verizon opening up. So it got open GPS but not wifi.
