LittleChirp – New Free BlackBerry Twitter Client Aims for Speed

Naviina let me know that they have just released a new Twitter client called LittleChirp. They admit that the market is already inundated with Twitter clients but their aim is to be the fastest and simplest Twitter client for sending tweets quickly. This is Navina’s first release and will be the first of many they plan on developing under the Mobikraft name. It supports most recent devices with the exclusion of the BlackBerry Storm for some compatibility reason.

You can find the app in the App World at this link and it should be available in Mobihand shortly.

From the description:

LittleChirp lets you send tweets from your BlackBerry faster than any other app. It can be assigned to a side convenience key to launch a floating input-box to type in your tweet and post by hitting enter. When assigned you can launch it from the BlackBerry main screen, Web Browser, Camera mode, 3rd party apps or anywhere.

LittleChirp is kind to the BlackBerry’s battery, with a tiny memory footprint and instant loading. The convenience key used to launch it can be set by the user and the app’s set-up is straightforward and simple.

FEATURES:

  • Split-second loading
  • Tweet in other apps
  • Tiny memory footprint
  • Kind to your battery
  • Simple set-up
  • Assign convenience keys

SUPPORTED DEVICES
OS 4.6 or newer – we’re adding support for older devices and the Storm soon.
Device list: 9630 9000 8900 8830 8520 8350i 8330m 8330 8320 8310 8300 8230

IMPORTANT NOTE
Sadly, this app DOES NOT work on the Storm due to compatibility problems
with the device software.

  1. I would like to add that the 8330m currently doesn’t have OS 4.6, therefore LittleChirp will not install on it, according to BB App World.

Sadly, will not install on Curve 8310 4.5 on Rogers. Msg shows: This application is not available on your device or for your carrier.

I know it requires 4.6, but why show 8310 in the device list?

  3. We apologise for the confusion with the supported devices – there’s a large number of BlackBerry phones to take into account so please forgive us this first time and we’ll try not to make the same mistakes again.

Basically if your phone can run OS4.6 and it isn’t a Storm then LittleChirp should work. We’ll soon be rolling out an updated version of the app which will support phones with older OS versions such as 4.5 – hope that helps.
