BlackBerry Bold 9700 Gets Manhandled – Coming To UK Nov 9th?

Expansys-bold-9700 I know there was quite a splash for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 yesterday but later in the day some more goodies came to light. Both Engadget (at this link) and ElectricPig (at this link) managed to snag some great hands on shots of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 live. I know we have seen quite a few reviews of the 9700 already but those were prerelease devices while this is the end product.

Ben over @IntoMobile also spotted that Expansys in the UK is showing the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is expected to ship Nov 9th… Could that be the official launch date here too? Who knows but it definitely is sometime in November.

Last but not least MobileSyrup is claiming that TELUS will soon also confirm the 9700 on their own network. That should make a few people happy. :)

  1. Telus and Bell have a chance here to really kick Rogers in the gonads on this device. Rogers seems to be taking their standard road with $300 for the device even on 3 year contract. Considering the Storm2 is going for free on Vodafone UK, you have to wonder how much longer carriers can get away with crazy device pricing. Telus and Bell could pick up a LOT of BB users for their new GSM networks with aggressive 9700 pricing.

  2. Hmmm. Bell and Telus are not releasing a gsm network. They are simply adding HSPA to their existing network and trying to fill the gaps where their province partners have opted not to follow their lead and go with Rogers.

    • You’re saying that Bell and Telus are adding HSPA to their existing CDMA/EV-DO networks? I’d be interested in reading some technology write-ups on how to deploy HSPA on EV-DO. Can you point me to some source data?
