RIM Rolls Out Web Update Firefox Compatibility & Desktop Manager for Mac 1.0.1
RIM is really making a strong push in the compatibility front recently. Stephen over at NativeBerry let me know that the web based BlackBerry OS update site now works from Firefox. It will prompt you to install an MSI package and then you will be able to update to your carrier latest OS from inside Firefox. Check it out at this link. I can count on one hand how many times I have updated my phone to my carriers latest OS over the latest overall but still a nice touch by RIM.
In similar news Adam over @ CrackBerry spotted an update for Desktop Manager for Mac to version 1.0.1. Supposedly this fixes a few issues but there is yet to be a released change log. You can pick up the update at this link.
I actually tried using Desktop Manger on my Mac yesterday when Facebook 1.7 bricked my Bold but was disappointed that I could not use it to reload an OS when the phone was bricked since it would not recognize the phone while it worked fine in Windows. Anybody figure out how to fix a bricked phone using Desktop Manager for Mac?
