Wal-Mart Canada Introduces Mobile Website Beta

walmart-canada-mobile Walmart.ca in Canada has just released a new mobile website beta that looks quite good. It does not come anywhere close to the Amazon BlackBerry app but its leaps and bounds better than the mobile Amazon or Newegg site. I don’t shop Wal-Mart that often but I can see our friends north of the border using it for comparison shopping.

The website also lets you easily view local store promotions, location stores, and browse store flyers from your BlackBerry browser. Check it out from your BlackBerry at www.walmart.ca or get more details from your desktop at this link.

It should be noted that WalMart.com also provides the same for American shoppers – although their interface is perhaps not as nifty as the Canadian one. But they are very similar.
What I find ironic is that, if memory serves me, it was quite a while before Walmart Canada even had a website. I remember wanting to go there fore something (long after walmart.com was in existence) and discovering that walmart.ca did not exist yet.
