Google Voice Rolling Out Invite System Again

googlevoiceinbvite Nick let me know that Google has announced a new invite system for the popular Google Voice. According to Google, users of Google Voice will soon see an invite link to the left of their inbox. This link will let you invite up to 3 of your friends to try the service. Invites are pretty easy to get either way with a few weeks delay but still its a nice move on Google’s part.

From their announcement:

Starting today, we’re beginning to give out invitations to Google Voice users.  If you currently use Google Voice, over the next few weeks, you’ll see an "Invite a friend" link appear on the left-hand side of your inbox. We’ll be rolling out these invitations gradually, so don’t worry if you don’t see your invitations immediately. We’re initially giving out three invites to each account, but we’re planning to provide more invitations in the future.

Please Share With A Friend!

  2. Do think it will make a difference if you put your friend’s Gmail e-mail vs. say a yahoo or AOL account? Hard to say if Google wants to reward people who already use Google or bring new people to their services.

  3. It seems that Google is trying to avoid Apple it’s iPhone. Check this link out.. http://www.google.com/support/voice/bin/topic.py?topic=23195

For Mobile access, it has mentioned Android and BlackBerry and categorized iPhone as “other”. Interestingly it has given a picture of google voice on iPhone. It looked a little strange to me!!!
